The South Texas Reining Horse Association welcomes you!
Memberships are due annually beginning January 1st of each year.
Riders must be current members in good standing in order to be eligible for year-end awards, special series awards, and to enter certain classes. Your membership supports reining shows, clinics, and special events dedicated to promote reining in the South Texas area. Members must join STRHA prior to showing in a class for points to count for year-end awards! You may also join at the horse shows. Just ask the show secretary for a form and they will help you execute your membership.
Class Conditions are shown in the NRHA handbook with the additions of the following classes:
STRHA $3000 Novice Rider- For any horse and rider that is Non-Pro eligible who has not earned in excess of $3000 lifetime in reining earnings. Must be a member in good standing of STRHA in order to ENTER the class. This is a buckle class each time it is run. You are eligible to win the buckle every 2 years, as long as your overall earnings remain below $3,000.
Point Keeping- STRHA year-end rankings shall be computed on a point system based on the number of horses competing in any class. Points will be tabulated in accordance with NRHA point keeping procedures. The points will be awarded on "one horse/one rider" combination.
Year End Awards. The Rider must be current STRHA members in good standing for points earned to count toward year end awards. The points are not counted retroactive, only from the day of enrollment (day current STRHA membership dues are paid) to the end of the point year. A record will be kept for each of the reining classes designated by the Executive Committee no later than the first show of each year. Recognition in the form of “Year End Award” will be made to the winners in 19 categories.
Affiliate Finals- Please visit the NRHA website for Qualification Criteria for ARC and Adequan® NAAC.
